PITTSBURGH!!!!

Posted: August 27th, 2017 | No Comments »

my favorite spots on the trip were pittsburgh and charleston (could’ve fallen in love with arkansas, too, but we were only there for 18 hours). but pittsburgh! my gosh! reminded me of portland (forests, rivers, parks, bridges), but smaller (300,000) and more diverse. obviously i was into it. we went to the mattress factory (needs some loving) and the warhol (one of the best museums i’ve ever been to? i’m a bit of a warhol skeptic, wasn’t that stoked to go, but it made me feel like all of his fame / star-glamorizing was inspired by true love and not cynicism, plus the museum itself is just really focused, smartly organized, but also fun, and accessible. i guess i’m in love with the warhol now).

we also went to a pirates-cardinals game!!!! i loved that, too! look how the bridge looks like a prop bridge! IT’S A REAL BRIDGE!

also here’s a picture of greg and danielle WHO JUST HAPPENED TO BE IN PITTSBURGH AND STAYING IN THE SAME HOTEL AT THE SAME TIME. here we are playing ping pong. the ace pittsburgh was great and staff awes tho it had an unfortunate smell in the hallways and a little bit of an adult rec room vibe. i think this picture was actually ross’s attempt to capture some people playing frisbee indoors.

got ross to drop me off at the lincoln memorial for an 11-minute visit, not my ideal style, but i took what i could get (new wedded life motto). noticed this virtual reality tour advert, which has many things going on, but mostly not sure how i felt about astral lincoln or lady reaching out to touch astral lincoln.

something about this does not seem right

OK HOLD THE PRESSES MY BLOG HAS BEEN BROKEN!

Posted: August 25th, 2017 | No Comments »

my blog has been broken and i had to write to customer service and try and get it worked out from the road, and, now, after three weeks, it’s up again, but truthfully, worryingly, may still be broken (my latest posts don’t seem to be appearing? not able to edit published posts?). but i may still go for it, because there’s an avalanche of wedding road trip posts that i had to just mentally bookmark and they are like an expectant geyser and the semi-fixed business seems better than nothing.

ONWARD TO THE GEYSER!!!!!

please do not make me leave this hotel

hotel zero george may be the best hotel i have ever stayed in. the customer service was off the chain: champagne at checkin; champagne in our room; friendly valet; bedtime turndown; dark chocolates, waters, and slippers waiting by the bed; all the lights on dimmers; coziest bed; and the most incredible sleep machine (did not wake once during the night/before dawn with worry). also it was raining and you know my thoughts on rain. here are awkward and poorly lit polaroids of us at the hotel — note my ecstatic expression.
