best meals of 2015

BEST MEALS OF 2015
(running theme: white wine)

• the pasta sheets at via carota, already mentioned, but just the buttery sauce plus the wavy texture plus white wine, greg, plays, new york

• eating with ross’s family and my mom at maria’s in santa fe (“the motherlode of margaritas”) (does “motherlode” sound vaguely gnarly in context with eating or is it me)

• accidental date at blue mountain bistro in fort davis — ross, fries, white wine, tomato bisque, warm rolls, excellent service, total anonymity

• my solo meal last week at hobby airport in houston, at pappasito’s, eating salad with ranch dressing AND queso, drinking white wine, listening to a string quartet play “heartless” (!) and “wrecking ball” (i teared up accidentally) (actually tearing up now listening to this version below? is the song genius? maybe it’s a known musical structure that affects human hearts?)

not the string quartet at hobby airport but this is a good representation
