stingy heart

my therapist said i had a stingy heart and it made laugh so hard at the time, but later it really stung. while i don’t have a stingy heart with everyone, i do with a big swath of marfa, my in-laws, my mom — with honestly anyone who needs something from me. it was a hard truth to hear and also made me feel kinda hopeless. no good google image search for “stingy heart” but scrooge mcduck is as good a substitute as any.
