this song’s so easy to enjoy. i love how garage rock rides the line between sweet faced ’50s and total scuzz grimy punk. plus i approve of how he looks like my brother-cousin.
from interview with booking agent and chaos in tejas found timmy hefner:
“The next logical step would be taking the festival outdoors, but I hate watching music outdoors,” admits Hefner. For now, he’s simply having fun with the festival and his label 540 Records. That and keeping the festival varied. “I just don’t like shows where all the bands sound the same.”
just searching and found this:
“The best way to overcome the post-vacation blues is to know you have another vacation to look forward to.”
i like the sentiment but also…life is the real story. vacations rule but shouldn’t the sandwich meat/regular life part be the best part? not the vacation/bread? i mean the vacation bread should be good, too. but i want to make the sandwich life awes, too.
also, this picture — good work wikihow.
imma try and channel this instead (see below).
update: not able to channel this.
sky on the way back to marfa
felt pretty good coming home yesterday, even though vacation was too short and i needed more marinating time (approximately 4-8 more weeks), but felt committed to staying motivated, holding onto inspiration, seeing inspiration in the day to day, but this morning, it’s not coming easy.
GONNA HOLD ONTO THE GOOD TIMES
GONNA SEE THE BEAUTY IN THE DRUDGERY
GONNA APPRECIATE WHAT I HAVE
had dinner with my stepmom, dad, sister, brother, and brother’s girlfriend tonight. drank champagne and ate pizza at luigi’s with club music blasting in the background. there’s nothing as good as family sometimes. why is that. i guess sometimes just because family still feels like a luxury, like how an orphan feels upon finding relatives, like i’m in a permanent state of enjoyment. makes me want to move to austin or houston and just see them all the time, even though that is not a practical idea (or is it). and i started talking to my dad about the work troubles, and i thought i was at peace with it all, all the potential changes, the job changing, me not feeling like it matches my skill set anymore, straight up, rational, clear, but even talking about it made my voice get tight, because deep down, i feel like i’ve failed this job, and i’m gonna have to leave it because i failed, not because the job is changing into something that i don’t want.
