nightmare

the other night i had a nightmare that i told someone that i hated her, and she said that she hated me, too, and we just stared at each other with hate dripping off of us.

things that happened on the trip to taos

• went on my first couples trip (four couples, whoa)
• bought three sweatshirts, a golden necklace, the silver palate cookbook, and a pair of semi-good white jeans at thrift stores
• got nilsson schmilsson on vinyl for $3
• read 1/2 of a fantasy novel
• read said fantasy novel in a boiling hot hot tub
• got my car stuck in mud for 30 minutes
• drank champagne with strawberries
• ate two apple fritters, an old-fashioned, a blueberry donut, and a chillingly delicious vegetarian tempeh reuben
• watched the last waltz on television and again agreed (to myself) that the best part is where joni mitchell sings hidden back up on “helpless”
• didn’t ice skate
• didn’t snowshoe
• didn’t ski
