just a few dumb cool things

• first of all — how many times can i say it but — the playoffs are manna from heaven. i fell asleep to the denver game last night, i.e., the best.
• one of the nurse assistants here, sean, is 52 and thai, and has lived in houston only a year. he was a lawyer in bangkok (!) but came over to help his daughter get settled — she’s 26 and about to start her internal medicine residency in california. a totally wild story.
• juiceland. couldn’t get a smoothie today because i had to get to hospital by 7am to meet the doctor but you BEST believe i shall be loading up tomorrow.
• our kia!!! against the odds
